The Desperados Trail Scouts are a renegade group of volunteers, associated with the Desert Mountain Foundation, who love the outdoors, enjoy the company of like-minded compatriots, and are vigilant about protecting, promoting and enhancing Desert Mountain’s outdoor recreation experience within the beautiful Tonto Skyline environment.
The Tonto Skyline, the mountains and peaks that loom behind our Desert Mountain homes, is the critical interface where civilization and wilderness meet.
Working closely with the Desert Mountain Club, the Desperados Trail Scouts consider themselves vital stakeholders in Desert Mountain's northern properties inside the gate and the surrounding Tonto National Forest environment beyond the gate. Desperados Trail Scouts foster open space preservation, desert wildlife habitat restoration, and regional outdoor recreation within the greater Tonto Skyline environment.
